MLB reports that the condition of Wily Mo Peña's left oblique continued to improve. Our hero, the Nationals' left fielder, is due to play three innings on Tuesday, when he begins a stint in extended Spring Training games.
The team hopes Peña can play nine innings by Saturday. If things go according to plan this week, Wily Mo may start a rehab assignment as soon as April 14. Peña missed the start the regular season after suffering a strained left oblique during batting practice last month. Hurry back Wily Mo! |
