Wily Mo appears to be making a furious attempt at a quick comeback from his injury. He went 3 for 3 in an extended spring training game in Viera earlier today, and will play left field there tomorrow, followed by back-to-back games at Class AAA Columbus this weekend.
According to GM Jim Bowden, the team is "expediting the process" for Pena's return. "I'm hoping at least by next weekend he's playing [for the Nationals], maybe earlier," Bowden said. It seems that that stage is being set for Wily Mo to return in time to play against the Mets next week! |
