The Washington Nationals avoided arbitration with outfielder Wily Mo Pena on Thursday, as Pena agreed to a deal that would pay him $4 million over two years if he picks up a mutual option for 2009, or $7 million if the team exercises its option. |

Wily Mo took his 2nd game back from injury much like he took the his first, hitting Mets pitching. For the 2nd day in a row, Peña got 2 hits and tonight he drove in 2. Wily Mo is batting .359 in his last 10 games and .444 at Shea Stadium this year. |
